I have had a passion for investing since I was 15 and always loved the challenge of taking complex ideas and boiling them down to simpler themes. After switching from an astronomy and physics track to finance, I studied at the University of Texas’ top-ranked business school, graduating #1 in my class. Despite graduating during the dot-com bubble burst, I landed a job as an options derivatives trader for Wolverine Trading in Chicago- eventually founding my own specialist firm trading on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. After taking a sabbatical to travel the world (visiting all seven continents, 55 countries, and sailing across two oceans), I moved to Denver.I spent seven years as a Senior Associate Director at Janus Henderson Investors, helping financial advisors design portfolios and strategies to maximize their clients' well-being. I joined Paragon in early 2020 as a portfolio manager and financial planner for our top clients, becoming a partner in 2021.
I find great fulfillment in helping families make informed decisions about their financial future. Every family is unique, with a complex puzzle that comes together to form a picture based on their current situation, future goals, and interests. I aim to provide peace of mind while taking on complex problem-solving for the benefit of my clients..
I'm originally from Austin, TX, but now live in Golden, CO. This great town is perfectly positioned for outdoor activities and close to Denver, where I can enjoy all the culture and music that a big city has to offer. My wife, Sarah, is an educator who focuses on helping new child immigrants to the US integrate and learn English. I have two young sons, Theo and Miles, and two golden retrievers, Finn and Scout, as well as a Bengal cat, Ozzy. We’ve hosted au pairs from South America to allow our kids to participate in cultural exchange and global enrichment. In my free time, I love mountain biking, skiing, soaking in hot tubs, and traveling the world.
